How to start writing again after so long? These past two years have been full of adventures for the two of us, both on sea and on land – and not all of them easy.
To sum it up, Phil and I have been working hard to whittle a shape out of the ideas and desires that flooded our heads and hearts. These past two years have been the source of reflection, brainstorming and daydreaming. We began with the things we knew for certain: we wanted to continue living our adventures on Dali. We were also sure that we wanted to continue sharing these journeys with others. However, sharing for the sake of sharing didn’t seem like enough, and we soon realised that what we really wanted was to be able to encourage other people to start living their own dreams.
It was hard to figure out where to begin. We had received a lot of messages from people interested in our story, but simply telling them about our life wasn’t going to cut it. As we continued sailing and discovering places and people, we realised that our story was just one of so many others.
Little by little it dawned on us that the common strength in all these stories was that they represented so many beautifully diverse examples. People of all ages, nationalities and from different walks of life who had each made a drastic change to pursue their own dream. Individuals who seemed unalike at first, but all arrived at the same amazing achievement: to make their dream life an every day reality.
So we set sail to search for them, and on the way we gave them a name: “Dreamcatchers”.
